Community Celebrations provide opportunities for neighbourhood
residents to mix and chat with neighbours, get involved with
their community and participate in family activities.
Objectives:
To promote a sense of "community".
To celebrate the community.
To promote acceptance of different cultures and languages.
To decrease acts of discrimination and prejudice.
To increase a sense of pride in the community.
To focus on family activities.
To increase a sense of well-being among neighbourhood residents.
To implement high rates of community participation.
To provide opportunities for informal discussion and information
exchange. Space:
Varied - Heatherington Community Centre. Better Beginnings
Better Futures Community House. Banff Avenue Community Centre/House.
City of Ottawa green space, etc.
Participants:
Neighbourhood adults and children.
